The Group ID that you assign to a flex field determines the location of the flex field in an inspector, a form, or a list view. When you right-click a column name in a list view, such as the Units view, N4 displays a list of columns categorized based on the type of information they display.
For example, N4 groups all the columns that display routing information for a unit into the 3-Routing submenu and all the columns that display equipment information into the 2-Equipment submenu.
For flex fields, N4 uses the Group ID to determine the submenu in which to display the field. For example, if you assign 3-Routing as the Group ID for a flex field, N4 displays the flex field in the 3-Routing submenu in the Units view.
The following tables list the Group IDs (also the submenu in the list view) that you can assign to a flex field, the corresponding location of the flex field in an inspector or a list view, and the form that you can use to edit the value stored in the flex field.
